Filsafat Hukum Menurut Prof. Jeffrie G. Murphy dan Prof. Jules Leslie Coleman dalam karya mereka yang berjudul ‘Philosophy of Law: An Introduction to Jurisprudence, 1984’ menyatakan bahwa:

“Materi yang menjadi pokok bahasan filsafat hukum sebetulnya mudah diidentifikasi, yakni ketika seseorang mengajukan pertanyaan tentang hukum dan didalamnya tercakup hal normatif. Prof. Jeffrie G. Murphy

Jeffrie G. Murphy adalah Profesor Hukum, Filsafat dan Studi Keagamaan di Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. Ia juga merupakan anggota fakultas yang berafiliasi dengan Sekolah Transformasi Sosial di Sekolah Tinggi Seni dan Sains Liberal. Ia lahir pada tanggal 26 November 1940 dan wafat pada tanggal 17 September 2020.
